"The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean; not to affect your reader, but to affect him precisely as you wish." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Love Me Not

Love poems lie
and so do I
when I say you're my darling.

Your fervent kiss
would not be bliss
but rather quite alarming.

I court you still
and hope you will
rebuff as you've been doing,

for, terrified,
I seek to hide
behind a show of wooing.
