"The difficulty of literature is not to write, but to write what you mean; not to affect your reader, but to affect him precisely as you wish." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson

Nectarine

A ripe nectarine
demands your full attention.
The first bite might be taken
one-handed, eyes on the newspaper,
thinking about the day ahead,
but then juice starts dripping
and both hands are required
and before you know it,
all senses are focused
on one moment of sweetness.
